Press Release The conference summarized and evaluated the implementation Decree No. 21/2015/ND-CP dated February 14, 2015 of the Government regulations on royalties and remuneration for cinematographic and fine art works, photography, theatre and other performing arts

Implementing Decision No. 2740/QD-BVHTTDL dated 20/9/2023 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, dated 24/10/2023 in Hanoi City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a conference to review 8 years of implementation of the Government’s Decree No. 21/2015/ND-CP dated 14/02/2015 regulating royalties, Remuneration for cinematographic, fine art, photography, theatrical and other performing arts works in order to assess the shortcomings, limitations and difficulties in the implementation process. Since then, completing the legal corridor, responding to changes, socio-economic development and international integration.
Attending the final conference were representatives of relevant ministries, branches and agencies; representatives of leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism; leaders of public non-business units related to cinema, fine arts, photography, theater and other performing arts; representatives of several studios; representatives of non-business units of the culture and arts sector under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other non-business units of the arts and culture sector; representatives of a number of associations, associations, collective representative organizations of copyright and related rights and some press agencies.
The conference took place under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet and leaders of the Copyright Office. The conference is an opportunity for management and enforcement agencies on copyright and related rights to receive contents from representatives of management agencies, professional associations, direct creative non-business units who have participated in presenting reports, expressing opinions and proposing many practical contents to improve legal policies on royalties, remuneration for creative works. Thereby, promoting art creation activities in the coming time.

This is also an opportunity for localities to share experiences in the management and enforcement of copyright and related rights; contributing to bringing the law on Intellectual Property into life, contributing to raising awareness and sense of observance of the law on copyright, the right to relate to, promote creative activities and protect creative achievements and develop cultural industries in the spirit of Decision No. 1755/QD-TTg dated September 8, 2016 of the Prime Minister on approving the Strategy for the development of cultural industries of Vietnam, towards the goal of building a healthy and competitive cultural industry, contributing more and more to GDP, creating more jobs and increasing the country’s export turnover.
