Accepting the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong, General Secretary of the Central Committee The Communist Party of China, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife pay a state visit to Vietnam from December 12-13, 2023.

This is the third visit to Vietnam by President Xi Jinping as Head of the Chinese Party and State, taking place at a very meaningful time, right on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 15th anniversary of establishing a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, is a continuation of high-level exchange activities between the two Parties and two countries since the historic visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong ( from October 30 to November 1, 2022), demonstrating the importance of the Party and State of China and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping for Vietnam – China relations.

During the visit, 36 documents in many fields were signed between departments, ministries and localities of the two countries, including a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of copyright and related rights between the Ministry of Culture , Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the National Copyright Administration of China were displayed at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the afternoon of December 12/ 2023.

Memorandum of cooperation in the field of copyright and related rights signed by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Trinh Thi Thuy and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China – head of National Copyright Administration of China Zhang Jianchun.
The goal of the Memorandum of Understanding is to establish a cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China in the field of copyright and related rights.
Accordingly, the main content of the Memorandum of Understanding will focus on exchanging information to protect copyright and related rights; Cooperate to promote awareness-raising activities about copyright and related rights; promote creative activities, registration and exploitation and use of works; exchange experiences on legal policies and information technology applications; Developing human resources in the field of copyright and related rights and creating conditions for collective management organizations of the two countries to have opportunities to exchange and cooperate. From there, it is possible to establish cooperative relationships in the field of copyright and related rights to further promote the development of cultural industries between the two countries.
Every year, the two Parties will discuss and decide on forms of cooperation in accordance with the current procedures and legal regulations of each country and the strategic priorities of the parties.
